Post by yazPost by EdmundSince an FF update the downloadhelper doesn't work anymore.
What is the best way to get it back working?

Hope this helps:)
Simply installing KODI always helps as they try to stay pretty current on
the apps and the settings they carry.
KODI also usually has better download stream support too.
Works well under android.
On a PC it might be better to actually do a full install of it, but it
also works as an "added in" "app", even though it takes over more than
just a couple items when you run it.
Another method is to instal Ubuntu Studio instead of the base Ubuntu.
It uses the low latency kernel, and has a lot of apps for video, etc.
already loaded.
I always install VLC player and MakeMKV as well. Their forums have
compile how-to posts for ffmpeg as well as makemkv.
I needed these as they DO support HD DVD and no Windows app does any
more. But I found that the entire system works better as it relates to
video display related apps.
Just DL and run an Ubu Studio Live CD of their upcoming release, and see
if the live session works in the area you are observing.
