Ububtu Mate 15.10 Display Issues

All,

I'm still having display issues with all the kernels since
3.19.0-31-generic (i686). The display goes black, then comes back with
artifacts all over the screen. I use the 3.19 kernel, but that has
issues too (something about a macro error. Anyone else having these
problems? What to do (aside from switching distros)?

The info is:
Kernel : Linux 3.19.0-31-generic (i686)
Desktop Environment : MATE (mate)
Processor : 2x Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz
Memory : 2055MB (789MB used)
Operating System : Ubuntu 15.10
-Display-
Resolution : 1920x1080 pixels
OpenGL Renderer : Mesa DRI Intel(R) 915G x86/MMX/SSE2
X11 Vendor : The X.Org Foundation

Sorry, Ubuntu 15.10 has experienced an internal error
/usr/bin/macro, crash, 2.19.1-Oubuntu5...

Dave,
What video hardware and driver are you using? Post:

sudo lshw -c video

Also my 15.10 systems are on 4.2.0-23-generic kernel, haven't updated yet?

~$ uname -r
4.2.0-23-generic

In repositories maybe, but not installed by default:

***@nomad:~$ inxi -G
The program 'inxi' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
sudo apt-get install inxi

Dave,
How long do you have?
How much patience do you have?
Are you good at constructing search arguments for Google/Bing?
Do you have the stamina to deal with the 10000 different replies, none of
which works, that the various Linux "experts" are going to send your way?
My advice?
Dump Linux and move on.
Linux sucks.
You'll spend more time fixing it than using it.

Since Roy Schestowitz quit responding, you apparently became the main

You must have pissed off these lunatics one way or the other.

Don't worry Chris, they aren't even worth your attention.
